Iran has strongly condemned the use of chemical weapons in Syria, underlining the need for disarming terrorists operating in Syria.

Dozens of people were killed in a chemical explosion in the Syrian town of Khan Shaykhun in the northwestern province of Idlib on Tuesday. The chemical weapons were stored inside Syria, after it was stolen from Libya and smuggled into the Arab country through Turkey.

The United States and its fascist Zionist allies were quick to accuse Syrian government forces carrying out the attack, after the Syrian Air Force hit a chemical depot in Idlib this week. The Americans immediately launched a tomahawk missile attack to destroy 20 Syrian warplanes stationed at their military base inside Syria.

The Syrian government had voluntarily dismantled it stockpile of chemical weapons under supervision of the UN and the OPCW. The Syrian government turned over its entire chemical stockpile under a deal negotiated by Russia and the USA back in 2013!

The Syrian stockpile of chemical weapons was surrendered in a joint mission compromising representatives of the UN and the OPCW in 2014.

Iran’s call for disarming terrorist groups in Syria comes as the ISIS Takfiri terrorist group, backed by NATO, has launched several chemical attacks in Syria over the past years.
