Moscow threatens to shoot down Israeli warplanes flying over Syria

Russia threatened to retaliate against Israeli aircraft following reports the Israeli military forces shot down a Syrian war jet which had bombed US-backed positions in Syria.

“Any aircraft”, including Israeli fighter jets and drones, posing any threat to Syrian territory, will be shot down immediately by ground and air-based anti-aircraft defenses as aerial targets.

Russia, which supports the government of Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad militarily, called the bombarding of the Syrian territory an “Act of Aggression” and a violation of international law.

The US-led military invaded Syria without permission from the UN Security Council, and therefore committed serious war crimes, assisting other forces to kill at least 500.000 people, and causing the exodus of over 10 million refugees fleeing their native villages and towns to escape death, inflicted by US-air strikes.
