In November 2015, Russia introduced the combat ready Tupolev Tu-160 Blackjack and the new stealthy Raduga Kh-101 cruise missile in bomber raids on ISIS positions in Syria.
The new weapon is an extremely long range Kh-101 cruise missile that was launched from the Tu-160’s in 2015. The Kh-101 is the conventional missile and has a range of 10.000 km, while the Kh-102 represents the nuclear-tipped variant.
The new supersonic missile uses a combination of internal guidance & satellite navigation (GLONASS) and a imaging infrared terminal guidance system. The missile’s warhead would pack 880 lbs of explosives.
