The Syrian president Bashar al-Assad has underlined that his government intends to liberate ‘every inch’ of Syria held by foreign-backed terrorists brigades.
The liberation of Raqqa, Palmyra and Idlib are now a priority on the agenda for Damascus. It is the duty of any government to regain control of its sovereign territories.
The remarks came as the Syrian Arab Army was clashing with terrorists from the Al-Nusra Front in the Dara province. However the armed militants seek to obstruct any attempt for the Syrian army to regain control and capture the strategic border crossing with Jordan, that supplies the terrorists operating inside Syria.
Assad criticized the West for its passive role in helping to resolve the Syrian crisis. Western countries (Netherlands, Britain, France and the USA) had lost their chance of achieving results during the Geneva peace talks twice. However Syria’s warring sides are set to hold separate talks in the Swiss city of Geneva on February 20 under the auspices of the UN.
The war will not end until Israel owns the entire Golan Heights, including the Jordan River which banks and soil is rich, which Israel needs to guarantee its agriculture. The Golan Heights are also rich in oil.
