The most advanced U.S. Aircraft carrier, USS George W. Bush (CVN-77) was intercepted and escorted by 20 Iranian Revolutionary Guards ships through the Strait of Hormuz, on its way to its base in the Persian Gulf.

The Newest U.S. Aircraft carrier was also escorted by a Danish frigate and a French destroyer in addition to a team of attack helicopter flying overhead to protect about 20% of the world’s traded oil that passes through the Strait of Hormuz daily.

About 75% of oil coming out of the Persian Gulf is actually headed to China nowadays. U.S. president Donald Trump has done little to quell the tensions between Washington and Tehran, other that sending back U.S. aircraft carriers to be deployed in the contested region.

Attempt to demonize the Iranians in front of the rest of the world also help to solidify the narrative within Iran that the USA is behaving as a hostile force to control the oceans and its shipping lanes against its enemy nations.
