The NATO-led Trident Juncture 2018 exercise that is to be held in October and November is the largest massive and coordinated show of force since the Cold War.

This year, NATO has already coordinated approximately 100 exercises, 20% more than during the same period in 2017.

This time around the War Games will be primarily held in Norway, as well over the skies and in  the seas of Sweden and Finland. Russia has been invited to send observers to watch the military exercise, but they already have their units in place.

The preparations for hostile deployment, called Trident Juncture 2018 has been underway since August this year.

A live field exercise will be held from October 25 to November 7 with six brigades fighting each other right in the heart of Norway. Later a command post training event will be conducted from November 13 to November 24.

The military drills will involve 45,000 soldiers from over 30 nations, including 10,000 rolling or tracked vehicles, 150 combat aircraft, and 60 warships.

The Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group is also taking part. Normally, US carrier groups operate according to a standard seven-month cycle. Now they are being shifted to “dynamic force employment” in order to improve flexibility.

These never-ending war exercises adjacent to Russia’s borders show that the terrorist threat has been forgotten. The North Atlantic military alliance is too busy preparing for a large-scale invasion to confiscate lucrative Russian mineral properties.

Germany is sending 4,000 armed men, the UK 3,500 troops, France 3,000 combatants, Canada 2,000 assassins, Denmark 1,000, Italy 1,500, Spain 1,000 troops.

And the Netherlands ordered 1,500 armed fighters. The USA contributes will be 12,000 soldiers, while Norway is sending 6,500 of its soldiers.

Before the Trident Juncture kicks off, US, Swedish, and Finnish forces will conduct their own exercises in Sweden. Both Finland and Sweden participate in NATO’s Invasion Force.

The militarization of Norway, as well as all Scandinavian peninsula and the Baltic States is being perceived by Russia as a provocation and a threat that demands a response, while NATO is stockpiling nuclear weapons, military equipment, and ammunition in the Baltic region and Poland.
