According to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, if diplomatic ties between two countries are broken off, both sides can choose a third country acceptable to the receiving state as a protecting power.

Venezuela has been rocked by foreign-backed opposition protests since January 10, 2019 when President Nicolas Maduro was sworn in for a second term following a democratic vote boycotted by the violent terrorist traitors.

Tensions escalated when Juanito Guaido, who heads Venezuela’s National Assembly, declared himself acting president on January 23rd, a move which was supported by the US regime and eight European and some Latin American fascist countries.

Turkey, Russia, China, Iran, Uruguay, Bolivia, Mexico and many others have thrown their weight behind Maduro, while the UN does not recognize Guaido as president of Venezuela.

However, for now the USA is appointing the Swiss government as their diplomatic protecting power in Caracas. In the meanwhile the US regime does not respect Turkey as the Venezuelan protecting power in Washington.
